Congratulations! You have found one of a kind.

At Kates Original Tweed Kilts of Inveraray we pride ourselves in the fact that only the finest Scottish tweeds, tartans and organic materials are used in our beautiful totally handmade kilts.

Located in the stunning Highlands of Scotland, we offer a bespoke kilt making service with each unique kilt made to your specific requirements and every stitch lovingly sewn by hand here in Inveraray. Many traditional kiltmakers profess to produce handmade kilts, but use modern sewing machines to attach the waistbands and sometimes even machine the pleats.

Rest assured that every effort will be taken to produce an heirloom that will last for generations. Environmental issues are also a concern to us, seeking out and working with organic and natural alternatives wherever possible.

"It was a great hit and stimulated a huge amount of interest. There seems to be a groundswell movement in the industrialised world to get back to nature, back to the land and to all that was honest and natural. This has developed a very interesting niche market for weavers such as Ardalanish and Kiltmakers like Kate who offer an organic alternative."

Scottish Tartans Authority Director Brian Wilson speaking about his Kates Original Kilt presented to him shortly before his trip to the Grandfather Mountain Games in the USA.

A kilt is not just for formal wear, it's for anywhere!
